Advanced cloth media primary treatment system that replaces or complements conventional primary clarifiers — removing TSS and BOD at the WWTP inlet with greater efficiency and a smaller physical footprint.
The AquaPrime® applies cloth media filtration technology — already proven in tertiary treatment — to revolutionize the primary stage. By combining innovative filtration with chemical coagulation/flocculation, AquaPrime® achieves TSS and BOD removals far superior to conventional primary clarifiers.
The result is a significantly lower organic load for subsequent biological stages, enabling existing systems to be right-sized or expanded without extensive civil works. Especially valuable for WWTP retrofits and expansions with space and budget constraints.
Occupies a fraction of the space of a conventional clarifier with much higher TSS and BOD removal.
Lower organic load at the biological reactor inlet allows for expanded capacity or reduced reactor volumes.
Fewer civil works and smaller required area translate into significant savings in total project capital cost.
Raw influent undergoes coagulant and flocculant dosing before entering the AquaPrime® modules. Coagulation/flocculation forms larger, denser flocs that are then captured by the cloth media on the rotating discs.
Continuous operation with automatic backwash keeps the discs operational even with high influent solids concentrations. The generated primary sludge is discharged in a concentrated form, reducing the volume to be treated and improving digestion efficiency.
Upstream chemical dosing forms flocs that greatly improve capture efficiency in the cloth media.
Cloth media discs capture solids, colloids, and flocs at the WWTP inlet stage.
Removed solids are discharged in concentrated form, optimizing sludge treatment.
